The Sky is Falling...

We left home at one in the afternoon and went to mom and dad’s house, where we had pizza. Then, off to Newark at five in the afternoon. We boarded the plane at around 8 pm. We had a little excitement at take off as the oxygen masks fell from the ceiling above my head. Thankfully, I did not get hit in the head, although I would have if I was tall like Dave. The stewardesses appeared very excited about this and were taking photos… so I did too. Sorry, Ruthie, I have no idea what kind of plane it was. Because passengers cannot sit in an aisle with no oxygen and apparently they could not fix this mid-flight, we moved to the very last row which was reserved for crew. Thankfully, the rest of the flight was uneventful… and very long. We arrived at around 7 pm Delhi time on Sunday.

My first impressions of Delhi, in the dark, on the ride to the hotel is that people drive crazy and that there is a lot of smog…oh, and it is nice and hot here. They drive on the wrong site of the road and lots of people have these incredibly not safe looking auto-rickshaws.
The hotel, the Oberai, is lovely. There is security at the gate that included checking under the car. We have a nice room and there is a floor butler. Very fancy shmancy. We just arrived and I am in desperate need of a shower. Then, we are going to explore the hotel and be ready to go by 9 am in the morning.

Look for more updates soon!

Oh, by the way, really lucky it was only your row that dropped. If they all fell, you'd still be in Newark.
