Well we are currently getting buried again with snow - another 1-2 feet on top of the 2+ feet we got a few days ago. If the weather report holds, though, this storm should be cleared out and we'll be able to get to the airport on Friday for our flight out...next stop - PERU!
The trip is a mix of wildlife and cultural stops with the first few days on a riverboat on the Amazon River. You can check out the boat here:

Then, we are traveling to Cusco and from there through the Sacred Valley and POSSIBLY to Machu Picchu. If you've seen the news recently at Machu Picchu, you will know that they've had some impressive rain that has unfortunately caused significant damage to the train tracks that is really the only way to get to the area. They are working to fix the problems and get the train up and running again, but it's going to be a last minute decision on whether we can go or not. If we can't get there, we have a Plan B to see some of the other Incan archeological sites in the area. Of course, we will be disappointed in missing what's supposed to be one of the most impressive sites in this hemisphere, but there's not much we can do about it. It just means we'll have to go back someday and see it then!
We will do our best to keep the blog up to date. It doesn't look like there's any internet on the boat, but once we get back to land, there should be pretty reliable internet most of the rest of the way. So, stay tuned for updates and photos along the way.
Hope everyone is staying warm and dry!
